In May 2025, the renowned Capella Hotel Group will open the first Patina Hotels & Resorts property in Japan, Patina Osaka. This new luxury hotel is nestled between two iconic historical landmarks: Osaka Castle, recently highlighted in the Golden Globe-winning drama SHOGUN, and Naniwanomiya-Ato ruins, the remnants of a palace over a millennium old. The exterior design of Patina Osaka has been brought to life by Jun Mitsui & Associates Architects, Inc. (JMA), while the interiors are the work of Strickland Co., Ltd. This collaboration between accomplished designers is a celebration of the hotel’s storied location.
The interiors of all 221 guest rooms draw inspiration from the deep history etched into this land, which symbolizes Japan’s rich heritage. Featuring interiors that incorporate deep wood tones to evoke a sense of warmth and refinement, the design seamlessly integrates with the surrounding scenery framed by large windows. Each room offers views of Osaka Castle Park and Naniwa Palace Site Park, where guests can savor cherry blossoms in full bloom during spring or the vibrant hues of autumn foliage.

Additionally, all guest rooms boast over 50 square meters of space, making them some of the largest in Osaka. The rooms are thoughtfully designed with carefully curated furnishings and amenities to ensure a harmonious balance of style and functionality, without any unnecessary elements.
The crown jewel of the hotel is the Patina Suite, spanning a remarkable 233 square meters. This expansive suite includes a living room, bedroom, kitchen, dining area, and a balcony overlooking Osaka Castle. The bathroom features a steam sauna for the ultimate indulgence. Additionally, the living area is equipped with a turntable and high-end audio speakers, creating a space that will delight even the most discerning audiophiles.
