Takanawa Gateway Station to Transform into a Club for “EKINAKA DJ -WINTER ’26” (Feb 5–11)

Ahead of its grand opening on March 28, 2026, TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY is hosting the in-station DJ event EKINAKA DJ – WINTER ’26, transforming the station into a club for seven nights from February 5 to February 11.

EKINAKA DJ -WINTER ’26

First launched from April to July last year to mark the pre-opening of TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY, EKINAKA DJ quickly became a hit, drawing more than 3,000 visitors across 11 events. Held inside the station designed by renowned architect Kengo Kuma, the event offers a rare setting where guests can enjoy DJ sets while watching trains speed past directly below.

The winter edition, EKINAKA DJ – WINTER ’26, returns with seven consecutive nights of music at Takanawa Gateway Station. Featured is a lineup of popular DJs including DJ KAORI and SHINICHI OSAWA.

Light Up the Night with The Projection Mapping Event TAKANAWA LIGHT JOURNEY

Taking place over the same period in front of Takanawa Gateway Station, TAKANAWA LIGHT JOURNEY will also transform Gateway Park with large-scale projection mapping. The event features two works: “Time Voyage”, which traces Takanawa’s memories through light, and “The TAKANAWA”, an artistic interpretation of the area today using real sounds and visuals from the neighborhood. Between screenings, visitors can walk through “LUMINOUS GATEWAY”, a glowing corridor that adds an immersive, three-dimensional layer to the entire venue. Running from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the light show makes an ideal stop before heading to EKINAKA DJ.
