Bacha Coffee Opens at Shin-Marunouchi Building, Expanding to 16 Cities Worldwide

Founded in Marrakech, Morocco, in 1910, Bacha Coffee opened its second location in Japan on the first floor of Tokyo’s Shin-Marunouchi Building in June 2026. Unlike its first location, the new Bacha Coffee Shin-Marunouchi store is Japan’s first dedicated retail boutique for the brand.

The store offers more than 200 varieties of 100% Arabica specialty coffee, carefully selected from 35 countries around the world. Making the most of its location by Tokyo Station, a major hub for business travellers, it also carries a range of gift boxes, baked goods and coffee accessories, ideal for souvenirs and gifts.

A Luxury Coffee Boutique for Travellers and the Business Crowd

Bacha Coffee now has a global presence spanning Asia, the Middle East and Europe. With the opening of the Shin-Marunouchi store, the brand has grown to 47 locations across 16 cities worldwide as of September 2026.

While its Ginza location offers the full Bacha Coffee experience, Shin-Marunouchi is all about retail. Its position in the heart of one of Tokyo’s key business and lifestyle districts makes gifting a particular focus, whether for local professionals or international visitors passing through the city.

Designed as a sophisticated boutique, the store offers some of Bacha Coffee’s signature products alongside 100% Arabica specialty coffees. There is plenty to choose from, whether it’s a gift for someone special, a quality souvenir, a business gift or simply something for yourself.

Expert Guidance from Coffee Masters Trained in More Than 200 Coffees

Step inside and you are immediately transported to the world of Dar el Bacha, the historic Marrakech palace where the brand has its roots. Rich reddish-brown tones contrast with a monochrome checkerboard marble floor, creating an immersive setting that reflects Bacha Coffee’s idea of coffee as an art form.

Moroccan hospitality is central to Bacha Coffee, built around the idea of welcoming guests like family and treating them with warmth, generosity and respect. That tradition continues through the brand’s Coffee Masters, who help customers navigate the more than 200 coffees on offer. Trained intensively at the Bacha Coffee Institute, they learn everything from service and hospitality to the characteristics of each coffee.

Rather than simply choosing from a menu, guests can talk to a Coffee Master about what they like or even what they feel like drinking that day. From there, they can be guided towards a coffee that suits them. It is an approach that also has plenty in common with Japanese coffee culture, particularly its attention to craftsmanship, precision and quality. For Japanese coffee lovers, the experience is something that feels both new and surprisingly familiar.

Bacha Coffee’s Pursuit of the Perfect Cup

Bacha Coffee offers more than 200 varieties of 100% Arabica specialty coffee, carefully selected from renowned coffee-growing regions across 35 countries. The collection ranges from approachable everyday coffees to rare and limited selections, with something for everyone from newcomers to dedicated coffee lovers.

The collection is divided into four main categories, each offering a different experience:
【Single Origin】Distinctive flavours shaped by the climate, environment and terroir of each region.
【Fine Blended】Original, well-balanced blends created through expert craftsmanship.
【Fine Flavoured】A popular collection distinguished by its rich aromas and fragrant notes.
【Decaffeinated】Coffees decaffeinated using a carbon dioxide extraction process, making them suitable for any time of day.

The same attention extends to quality and preparation. Bacha Coffee sources directly from farms, slow-roasts its beans according to their individual characteristics and determines the ideal grind for each coffee, with every stage intended to bring out the best in the final cup.
As a brand with more than a century of history, Bacha Coffee says it hopes to “build a lasting relationship with customers in Japan while continuing to value tradition, craftsmanship and specialty coffee.”

That approach takes on particular significance at Shin-Marunouchi, an area where Japan’s sophisticated culture of gift-giving is firmly established. Quality coffees presented in beautifully designed gift boxes make a strong, thoughtful impression, allowing the sentiment behind the gift to come through as much as the coffee itself. Through this, Bacha Coffee is looking to introduce a new dimension of luxury gifting to Japan’s coffee culture.
