RIVERSIDE CLUB in Nakameguro Reopens as a Listening Café & Bistro

Long loved as an all-day lounge, RIVERSIDE CLUB reopened on December 1, 2025, under its new name: RIVERSIDE CLUB MUSIC CAFÉ & BISTRO.

The interior has been completely redesigned with two distinct spaces: a dining area for enjoying meals and a lounge for enjoying music. The dining area now features comfortable stools and tables, accompanied by artwork inspired by “Guernica” by the artist madsaki, updating the atmosphere into one that blends warmth with a refined, modern feel.

Rebuilding the Space and Refining the Sound

Another key element of this renewal is the focus on sound. The lounge area now features large speakers made from birch plywood, known for their soft, resonant tone, along with a DJ booth outfitted with the latest analog record player and CDJ. During business hours, the warm, textured sound of analog records fills the room.

The café also now includes a dedicated analog record listening station, where guests can enjoy the café and bar while dropping the needle on records carefully selected by Nakameguro’s Adult Oriented Records.

Art Project: THE VOICE

To further its role as a cultural hub, the café has launched an art project called THE VOICE by artist Naoko Inagaki. Displayed on its exterior window walls and updated every three months, the installation acts as a public canvas, presenting social messages to passersby. The first installment, titled “Let’s talk!,” focuses on the importance of face-to-face conversation in an increasingly divided world. People of all ages from around the globe were invited to share “what they want to talk about now” and “what they want to express,” with their contributions presented through a combination of video and text.

A variety of events and pop-ups are also planned, and original merchandise featuring the café’s logo will be rolled out over time, so it’s worth keeping an eye out.
