To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Tokyo’s Ebisu Garden Place in 2024, a music festival called ‘EBISU Bloomin’ JAZZ GARDEN’ will take place over three days throughout the entire Ebisu Garden Place from May 10th (Friday) to May 12th (Sunday).
The concept is a ‘relaxed garden where you can enjoy the finest music and gourmet food in everyday attire.’ In addition to The Garden Hall and The Garden Room, special stages will be set up in the Center Square, where admission is free. These stages will feature live performances ranging from jazz by renowned artists selected by BLUE NOTE PLACE to performances by up-and-coming musicians in various genres, along with DJ sets.
A Superb Lineup
On Friday, May 10th, Brooklyn-based jazz trumpeter Takuya Kuroda will be appearing at The Garden Hall with Taiwanese R&B singer 9m88. Meanwhile, at The Garden Room, Shinichi Osawa, also known by his stage name Mondo Grosso, will showcase a special DJ set produced by Chris Peppler.
On the second day, May 11th (Saturday), Brazilian MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) superstar Marisa Monte will perform at The Garden Hall. In the Center Square, which is free to access, DJs Marimari, KATIMI AI, and dj yumi-cco will be spinning tunes. The festival promises to be enjoyable, even without attending ticketed performances.
On the last day, May 12th (Sunday), the internationally renowned London-based music duo Blue Lab Beats will grace the stage at The Garden Hall. They will be joined by special guests including Kan Sano, Daichi Yamamoto, and Kona Rose. Meanwhile, over at The Garden Room, Emi Meyer, known for her work in Japan and the U.S., will collaborate with special guest Crystal Kay for an unforgettable live performance.
