On August 30, 2025, I’m donut ? and the bakery café dacō opened just steps from Jiyugaoka Station.

The Perfect Spot for Both a Shop and a Café
The first floor is home to I’m donut?, a takeout-only shop featuring a wide variety of donuts and original merchandise. The sleek interior, combining stainless steel and concrete, is warmed by a wooden counter. The spacious layout makes it easy to move around even during busy times. In a popular neighborhood like Jiyugaoka, a well-loved donut shop just steps from the station is sure to be a hit for both casual visits and take-home treats.

At the back of the shop, a staircase leads up to the second floor, home to the bakery café dacō. Its large, open windows overlook the bus rotary in front of the station, making it a convenient spot for meetups. In addition to high chairs in the center, there are bench and sofa seats, so it’s comfortable even for visitors with young children.

The New Potache: A Drinkable Shaved Ice
To mark the opening of dacō in Jiyugaoka, the café has introduced a store-exclusive menu item: a drinkable shaved ice called ‘Potache‘. Available in watermelon and raspberry, it combines fruit juice flash-frozen into a fluffy shaved-ice texture with a homemade cheese yogurt sauce, offering a refreshing treat that’s part dessert, part drink.

Raspberry Potache (594 yen)
The rich cheese yogurt sauce contrasts with the crisp, icy texture of the shaved ice, creating a completely new sensation. Its cute appearance makes it tempting to drink as is, but it’s best to mix it well before sipping.
On the bread menu, six gluten-free varieties made with rice flour from Kyushu have been added. Popular items like Maritozzo and seasonal fruit sandwiches can now be enjoyed without wheat. Unique techniques, such as kneading in pumpkin or banana to balance moisture and sweetness, give the breads a moist and chewy texture.

From the front left, clockwise: Rustic Gluten-Free Bread (216 yen) / Gluten-Free Chicken Breast Salad Sandwich (529 yen) / Gluten-Free Maritozzo (496 yen) / Gluten-Free Seasonal Fruit Sandwich (529 yen) / Gluten-Free Melon Pan (334 yen)
Center: Gluten-Free Cream Bread (388 yen)
At I’m donut?, a new treat called the Rare Donut offers a unique texture that sets it apart from their fresh donuts. This ultra-soft, chewy treat is already a favorite at the Kyoto location of their sister brand, Amam Dacotan. In addition to the classic plain version, the Jiyugaoka shop offers exclusive flavors: Rare Donut Chocolate, made with rich cocoa, Rare Donut Custard and Rare Donut Chocolate Cream, both filled generously with homemade custard.

Part of what keeps I’m donut? beloved by so many is its constant creativity, with new menu items debuting at every store opening.
This April, the brand made its mark in New York, the world’s donut capital, establishing itself as a global name. If you haven’t tried it yet, now’s the perfect chance to see what all the buzz is about.
